Marco Franchina, born in Italy and raised in Southern California, is a contemporary mixed-media artist and photographer whose career began in fashion photography in Milan, Italy, and led to work for prestigious publications including Italian Vogue, Australian Vogue, Spanish Vogue, Rolling Stone, Interview Magazine, and The New York Times Magazine. Marco now combines his photography with vintage Hollywood and European movie posters, street posters, found imagery, and layered painting. Working on canvas and wood with oil, acrylic, watercolor, and collage, he deconstructs and reconstructs fragments of popular culture into bold, cinematic works that are both visually compelling and darkly romantic. Marco’s work is a testament to his ability to blend fine art with commercial aesthetics, creating pieces that are both visually compelling and culturally resonant.
